More about Dr Lourensz

Approach to Your Care

Not everyone who sees a surgeon needs an operation. Your first appointment is about understanding the problem: your symptoms, your test results and what you want from treatment. If surgery is an option, Dr Lourensz will explain what it can and can't do, the risks and the alternatives. You will be listened to, and progression to surgery is always a mutual decision.

Your First Visit

  1. Referral. Ask your GP or specialist for a referral to Dr Kaleb Lourensz. You need a current referral before the appointment to claim the Medicare rebate.
  2. Consultation. Dr Lourensz goes through your symptoms, your history and any tests you have had. You will leave knowing what the next steps are.
  3. An agreed plan. You decide on treatment together. If you choose surgery, you receive a written cost estimate before anything is booked, and your GP gets a letter after each stage.
